Robert Townson Public Preschool

As part of the plan to rebuild public education, the NSW Government is investing $769 million to deliver 100 new public preschools, co-located with public primary schools in NSW, to boost access to public preschool across the state. This is the largest investment in public preschools in NSW history, helping more children access a preschool program before starting school.

Work is underway for a new public preschool at Robert Townson Public School. The new public preschool will provide a safe and engaging environment for preschool children. It will feature specially designed rooms and a quality outdoor play area. The construction of the preschool is expected to be completed in time for Day 1 Term 1 2027 to accommodate up to 60 children per day.

The benefits

Robert Townson Public Preschool will offer a high-quality play-based educational program. It will be staffed by qualified educators and teachers in line with National Regulations.

When will Robert Townson Public Preschool open?

Construction for our preschool is anticipated to be completed in time for Day 1 Term 1 2027.  The opening date of the preschool will be communicated after service approval is complete.

Preschool days and hours

Our preschool is open for 6 hours a day, on the same days as all NSW public schools. This information will be updated closer to our preschool opening.

Fees

We do not charge fees to attend our preschool. NSW public preschools are funded by the NSW government.

Attendance

Public preschools enrol children for one year only, the year before they start school.

Children can enrol from the beginning of the school year if they turn 4 years of age before 31 July that year.

How to enrol

Unlike NSW public schools, there are no intake areas for public preschools. Enrolment is on application only.

Enrolling in a preschool within a school does not guarantee a place at that school for Kindergarten. Enrolment for our preschool is currently not open. Future details regarding enrolment can be found here closer to the preschool opening.
